  • In February 2023, Taiwanese firm Rapidtek Technologies Inc. specializing in antennae production and radio frequency testing announced on Tuesday the launch of a space industry’s research and development (R&D) center as it enters the local CubeSat sector. 
  • In July 2024, NASA’s CubeSat Launch Initiative program was able to get six small satellites launched through Firefly Aerospace’s Alpha rocket which took-off on July 3rd as planned. “Noise of Summer” is how the rocket was referred to and at 9.04pm, the rocket was able to leave the 2nd Space Launch Complex located within California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base. 
  • In May 2024, NASA launched a mini satellite to study the polar region of the Earth. The PREFIRE mission will address the problem of how much heat is emitted by the Arctic and Antarctica and how this emission affects the climate. The first of two climate satellites planned by NASA to focus on the pole’s heat release was launched from Launch Complex 1 at the company’s Māhia, New Zealand, technology park.
